Presentation

The CRAI implements quality strategies and applies quality assurance policies to improve the services it offers and the level of user satisfaction. It also uses dissemination and marketing policies to inform the university community and society in general about its work.

The Learning and Research Resources Centre (CRAI) was founded in 2004 in an effort to adapt the existing University of Barcelona library structures to the demands of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and the European Research Area (ERA). As its purpose says, the CRAI is the reference space for access and knowledge sharing; provides quality services and resources and is involved in learning, teaching and research.

The CRAI offers the University community and wider society sixteen CRAI libraries, the Plant Biodiversity Resource Centre (CeDocBiv), the Digitalization Centre and a series of cross units that provide learning, teaching and research support to all members of the UB community.

The CRAI manages a vast selection of information resources in different formats pertaining specifically to the programmes taught at the University. It also holds one of the most remarkable heritage collections in Spain and maintains the institutional repositories through which scientific production at UB is published and disseminated.

Service excellence, efficient and sustainable management, professionalism and innovation, inclusion and equality are our values that we put at the service of our commitment to the University, our users and society in general.

The CRAI of the UB received in 2018 the European Seal of Excellence EFQM 500+, recognition granted by the Club Excellence in Management (CEG), an entity that represents the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), and by the Bureau Veritas, leader worldwide in certification services.
