The members of the UB collective (PAS and PDI, students and authorized UB Alumni) have two types of access codes: the UB identifier and the local identifier that, among other benefits, allow them to authenticate themselves and have access to the services.
How to obtain and characteristics of the identifiers
The E-Resources Access Service (SIRE) provides access to electronic information resources contracted by CRAI, from a computer/client/device inside or outside the University of Barcelona network. It is based on OCLC's EZproxy solution.
Our user training service is intended to inform all of our potential users about the CRAI, its libraries and the many services and information resources it offers to the university community and training them in information skills. Fees apply for non-UB users in some of these services.
The digital copies service provides a free digital copy of articles from journals subscribed to the UB's Learning and Research Resources Centre (CRAI) that are not held at the CRAI Library of your faculty and cannot be accessed online. For example, you are at Clínic Campus but require a paper article copy from Biology. Heritage collections or materials with restricted rights are excluded.
To use this service, you must be a member of the UB community and hold a UB Card or a document that indicates your entitlement to loan items. In the case of laptops and cameras, it is also necessary to complete an agreement to accept the terms of service which must be validated in one of the CRAI libraries to be effective.
The interlibrary loan service can be used to locate and obtain the original or a copy of any kind of document that cannot be found at the CRAI and that is not available at other Catalan universities through the PUC. It also centralizes the loan of UB items to other institutions. This is a paid service.
The document loan service can be used to consult CRAI materials outside of library premises for a certain period of time. To use this service, you must hold a UB Card or another document that indicates your entitlement to loan items.
