UB CRAI for visiting users

As a general rule, visitors can access the Learning and Research Resources Centre (CRAI) libraries during the opening hours and access the collections. However, during exam periods or high-demand ones, temporary access restrictions may be in place.

Besides, visitors have access to a variety of services and resources freely available on-site and online, and to others that demand an access fee.

On-site services and resources

Access to books, printed magazines and journals and other documents stored in CRAI libraries
Access to open-access and subscribed electronic resources through the computers provided for visitors, to be found in all CRAI libraries
Help service from specialized staff to ask questions and resolve doubts
Connection to Eduroam WiFi network available for visitors from member organizations

Online services and resources

Access to Cercabib, the discovery tool offered by CRAI to search and locate from a single interface all resources simultaneously
Access to user self-training material
Access to digital open-access repositories at the University or by consortia:
- Publications that are a result of teaching, research and institutional activities of the UB community in the Universitat de Barcelona Digital Repository
- Publications of scientific journals edited by the UB at RCUB (Revistes Científiques de la Universitat de Barcelona)
- Singular digitized heritage collections of the UB at BiPaDi (Biblioteca Patrimonial Digital)
Questions about CRAI libraries and their services and resources at User support service (SAU) virtual service, available 24x7

Services and resources with an access fee

Bibliographic searches on a topic or results of curricular searches in databases such as Web of Science or Scopus at the Bibliographic information service
Training sessions on CRAI services and resources offered by User training service
Copying documents that are part of the UB's general bibliographic collection
Digitization services at the Digitization Centre (CEDI)

In addition to the above services and resources, visiting or guest PhD teaching and research staff with a stay of more than one month are entitled to access the electronic resources subscribed by the UB as indicated in the Regulations for the use of the Digital Library of the University of Barcelona (Catalan).
