CeDocBiV cartography

The results from studies focusing on plant communities and the landscape are often displayed on thematic maps. Many of these maps can be consulted in printed form or as online databases.

At the CeDocBiV, you can consult the following printed maps:

Map of the potential vegetation of Catalonia (1:250,000)

Cartography of the vegetation of Catalonia at a scale of 1:50,000 These maps show the potential and actual vegetation. To date, 43 sheets have been prepared. Of these, 19 have been published in paper format by the Cartographic Institute of Catalonia and the Institute for Catalan Studies. All of the printed maps can be consulted at the CeDocBiV.

Cartography of habitats (CHC50) and of habitats of Community interest (CHIC50) in Catalonia at a scale of 1:50,000. This cartography is based on the interpretation and adaptation to Catalonia of a list of habitats set out in the CORINE biotopes manual prepared by a committee of experts of the European Community.

The cartography of habitats, the map sheets of Catalonia’s vegetation prepared at a scale of 1:50,000, and other mappings of habitats (e.g., of protected spaces) can be downloaded from the maps server of the research group in Geobotany and Vegetation Mapping.

As a supplementary tool to manage the collections, the CeDocBiV also has maps from the complete collection of the 1:25,000 scaled series of topographical mapping of Spanish territory provided by the National Geographic Institute.
